Kate Beavis from The National Vintage Wedding Fair shares these beautiful and very colourful vintage wedding ideas, every one adorned with the most stunning floral arrangements.Picture the scene – the sun is shining, you are surrounded by pretty scenery, and you and your guests are relaxing at your garden party wedding for tea, cakes and much fun. Beside and above you, hanging from the trees, are vintage homewares and glassware in bright shades of blue and pink. There are flowers everywhere – in your hair, around your waist, on the tables; large blousy blooms in oversized shapes to really create that sense of WOW.
Get the look by choosing pastel 1950s vintage prom dresses or wedding gowns, teamed with layers of different coloured petticoats and pearls. Alternatively add tulle – loads of it, underneath as well as for puffed-up full veils. Add contrasting ribbons to waistbands, leaving the ends to hang long and free. Display your vintage prints on trees, hang lampshades from the branches and layer up all your pretty china, suitcases, baskets and silverware on every available surface – including the grass! Lastly, add flowers everywhere you can, even your shoes! Handpick large hydrangeas, English scented roses and cottage garden favourites such as stocks, hollyhocks and sweet peas.
