Miss Bamboo has always had a bit of an infinity with Blackpool, practising and competing there regularly in her beloved Ballroom and Latin dancing. However, she had never really taken the time out to explore this Northern Ballroom Mecca and its vintage offerings until the ‘Ted Do’ – the annual weekender for Teddy Boys and Girls and 50s Rock n roll enthusiasts.
The Queens in question are the Cunard line of luxurious art deco fitted ships. Let us retrace the steps of the first RMS Queen Mary that was launched in 1934. This was the beginning of the newfound luxury ocean liner travel that proved so popular with the middle and upper classes during the heyday of the 1930s.
